CORNMINT & MENTHOL

With more acreage planted and cooperative weather, yield per acre has increased. While there has been some softening of prices, reports claim demand has kept prices high. This has encouraged farmers to hold onto oil in the expectation of selling at higher prices.

TURPENTINE & DERIVATIVES

August 2019

With weak demand, Gum Turpentine prices continue to soften. Reports indicate that many factories are holding high priced stock and are not willing to sell at a loss unless they need capital. Some down-stream processors are in a similar position with inventory, but have been forced to meet market prices for their product. At present, rains have kept larger quantities of new crop from entering the market place so prices have been stable. Expect this to change soon.

LITSEA CUBEBA & NATURAL CITRAL

August 2019

Reports continue to advise that current crop will be significantly lower than last year’s which itself was low. Heavy rains and flooding have severely hampered collection while also lessening oil content. We would expect to see prices increase the next several months.
