palmarosaoil

Palmarosa oil

January 2020

Palmarosa is a yearlong production both in India and Guatemala.  High demand and quality problems have put pressure on pricing.  A good production in the last two months has helped to close the gap between offer and demand.  Prices might catch up later if this trend continues.

Prices have unfortunately jumped again in Guatemala after a burst of cold weather has delayed the second cutting.  The material that is available is being quoted at record prices, many people are holding to let things settle.

India prices are still high as well, with little relief in sight as long as demand stays high and situation in Guatamala continues.

Balsam Peru

January 2020

For the past couple of years, Balsam Peru has been very tight with scarce availability.  Farmers have now started preparations during their dry season for their next crop.  Collection of raw material usually starts end of January with a peak season expected April/May timeframe.
Outlook for 2020:  We expected a normal crop production and prices should ease as well.
