Steam distilled from the wood of the Dominican Republic-grown amyris tree. Often referred to as bois chandelle locally or “West Indian Sandalwood”, the wood’s reputation for burning brightly and for long periods due to its high oil content has lead to its common use as a torch.
Similar to Vetiver prices are firming.
There has been no change in Amyris’s situation. The supply is tight.
The devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew has worsened the situation for this already distressed ingredient.
The shortages and firming prices for Amyris Oil continue.
Prices remain firm and availability is still limited.
Demand continues to exceed available supply. Prices are expected to continue firming.
Similarly to Amyris, prices continue to rise as availability is not able to cover demand.
Similarly to Amyris Oil, there is not enough Haitian Vetiver to cover demand. Additionally, production in Indonesia appears to be non-existent.
