The Logistics and Transportation Journals continue to lament the state of the American Trucking Industry.  One journal has published a report from the American Trucking Association stating that turnover in the last quarter of 2015 for drivers of the large truckloads fleet was 102%.  This rising turnover rate will cause fleets to compete for safe drivers, meaning an increase in wages and benefits.

A separate journal noted that the American Transportation Research Institute has published data indicating that traffic congestion on highways added $49.6 billion to trucking industry costs during 2014.  Upon completion of the data, the numbers for 2015 are expected to be higher.

Freight rates should reflect these increased costs.
