African flavors have been budding over the passed few years with the American introduction to Dukkah, Ras El Hanout, and Berbere but none have been as succesful as Harissa.  This spicy north African seasoning has many versions but all are based on a dried red hot pepper, garlic, cumin and caraway core.  This powerhouse condiment is usually thinned with olive oil in home cooking but the American interpretation is finding its use as a flavor in snacks. The red pepper seasoned blend works well with chips, breads, veggies and meats.
