Yogurt

Oatmeal isn’t alone – the fastest growing dairy category is going savory in major US retailers. The launch of Mezé Dip in June by Greek Yogurt company, Chobani, marks the move out of the dairy sections and into the grocer’s deli.  Savory yogurt is nothing new to Americans, as indicated by their love of international dining.  But commercial growth of this magnitude is a domestic first in the US.  Though US consumption still pales in comparison to other countries, the commercial introduction to the savory category is an invitation to explore and expand this functional base.
