Description of Benzoin Siam Gum
A natural gum resin harvested from the Styrax Tonkinensis tree, Gum Benzoin Siam Resin is a product native to Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The resin has a brittle exterior, with coloration that varies from light yellow to pale brown. Benzoin Siam's aroma is sweet and balsamic, with a creamy top note reminiscent of vanillin. Despite this sweet odor, the resin's flavor is bitter and generally unpleasant. In perfumery, Gum Benzoin Siam Resin is mainly used for soaps and cosmetics, as its aroma has intense fixative properties which slows the evaporation of other odors.

Aroma is sweet and balsamic, with a creamy top note reminiscent of vanillin. Upon dry down, the resin's odor becomes rich and deeply balsamic, with an intense long-lasting sweetness. Its flavor is bitter and unappealing.
