Description of Helichrysum Oil

Helichrysum Oil is steam-distilled from the flowering tops of the evergreen Helichrysum angustifolium plant, which grows widely throughout the Mediterranean. Sometimes referred to as the "Curry Plant" or the "Everlasting Flower," the plant from which this oil is extracted has an intensely resinous and slightly bitter aroma. However, the oil itself is rich and sweet, displaying a deep tenacity that is often compared to the smell of unrefined honey. As time goes on, Helichrysum oil develops a somewhat fruity and tea-like nuance that is extremely tenacious and immensely pleasant. Helichrysum is also one of the only natural sources of neryl acetate, which imparts a fruity and floral aroma that is highly sought-after within floral perfumery.
