Description of Helichrysum Oil
Steam-distilled from the flowering tops of the tiny Helichrysum angustifolium plant, Helichrysum Oil is sometimes referred to as “Curry Plant Oil” or “Everlasting Oil,” as its aroma is incredibly powerful and rich. The oil itself is pale and yellow, displaying an intense and sweet-herbaceous top note that is complemented by nuances of coumarin and honey. The initial deep sweetness of helichrysum oil eventually gives way to a fruity, almost tea-like dry down. This complex odor, combined with the oil’s tenacity, makes helichrysum a popular ingredient within many different perfumery products. Helichrysum oil blends particularly well with citrus, floral, and earthy notes, augmenting aromas with its intense but pleasant sweetness. The oil is also found in fruit flavorings for sodas, candies, and other sweet-tasting food products.
Aroma & Flavor of Helichrysum Oil
