Description of Melissa Oil Bulgarian
Sometimes referred to as “Lemon Balm” or just “Balm Oil,” Melissa Oil Bulgarian is steam-distilled from the Melissa officinalis plant, which has been cultivated throughout Europe for thousands of years. The oil’s aroma is sweet, citrusy, and herbal, retaining an intense freshness alongside interesting java-like undertones. This aromatic complexity makes it one of the rarest and most potent ingredients within the realm of fragrance. Similar to citronella, Bulgarian melissa oil has a green, slightly fruity dry down, making it an excellent choice when paired with other citrus, floral, or herbaceous ingredients. Due to its long history within the industry, melissa oil has earned a number of unique names for itself, including “Heart’s Delight,” “Bee Balm,” and “Oil of Balm.”
