As consumers continue to focus on healthy lifestyle choices, when they eat is equally as important as what they eat.  It is recognized that eating controlled portions on a more frequent basis has a number of positive effects. With a growing number of American consumers snacking four to six times a day, it’s no surprise that this category maintains a healthy life of its own. With this mindful consumer switching to snacking as a main source of sustenance, the rules are changing.  Plant based, protein packed and vitamin rich are a must as the ground shifts away from sweet to savory and from largely carbohydrate rich to nutrient rich.
