Bulgaria is in the beginning stages of its processing season for lavender, and oil production is currently underway at Berjé Trakia. In 2023, the lavender market underwent major changes to its supply structure and total acreage within producing regions such as Bulgaria. Weak demand in certain sectors of the consumer market led to a sharp reduction in the acreage allocated to lavender in Bulgaria, which will result in a significant reduction of essential oils production this year. For the production of derivatives and New Method oil, volumes from Vietnam are readily available to supplement demand. Prices for these, as well as Traditional Method oil, are nearing historic lows. The Fall Harvest will prove to be an interesting season for farmers to be incentivized to produce if prices remain low. We are watching and monitoring closely. ...
