Description of Palo Santo Oil

Palo Santo Oil is considered to be a sacred product of the unique “tropical dry forest” region of South America. Its name means “"Holy Stick,” derived from its association with ancient Andean civilizations and their shamanic traditions. Even today, palo santo is still burned by traditional Peruvian shamans to “cleanse misfortunes” and “purge evil spirits.”

In fragrance, Palo Santo Oil imparts a unique aroma that is both woody and fruity. It contains notes of citrus, mint, earth, and spice. As such, palo santo has numerous applications within perfumery, often included in “soothing” products such as lotions and incense. The oil’s high limonene content also makes it a natural bug repellent, which can be very useful in products that double as insecticides.
