Description of Tangerine Oil Cravo

Sometimes referred to as “shequasar,” “Taiwan tangerine,” or “Okinawa lime,” Shiikuwasha Oil is steam-distilled from the fruits of the Citrus × depressa tree. The fruit is mainly grown in southwest Japan, with oil production occurring throughout the region. The aroma and flavor of Shiikuwasha are both incredibly sour, making the ingredient a popular choice among Asian culinary products. Similar to lemon oil, shiikuwasha oil is added to teas, fruit juices, and meat sauces, imparting a citrusy and bitter taste. The oil is also used in Japanese pharmaceuticals, particularly in metabolic health products.
