Description of Black Currant Absolute
Produced by extracting the buds of the Ribes nigrum bush that contain benzene or petroleum ether, Black Currant Bud Absolute is cultivated throughout Europe for its complex aroma. Powerfully spicy and green, with a tangy and somewhat woody odor, this extract is most commonly used in fine fragrance alongside other floral and citrusy ingredients such as Jasmine and Bergamot. Black Currant Bud Absolute also retains a phenolic, almost animal-like drydown, which can be used to add a somewhat "dirty" olfactory note for more natural-smelling perfumes.
