Description of Coriander Herb Oil (Cilantro Oil)

Coriander Herb Oil is steam-distilled from the coriander plant before it goes to seed; this oil is sometimes referred to as "Cilantro Oil" as well. As the name implies, coriander herb oil uses the leaves of the plant rather than its seeds, yielding a much more aldehydic aroma. This refreshing scent has an incredibly clean top note, though it also retains many of the fatty notes commonly associated with the fresh herb. Coriander herb oil is often blended with ingredients such as lemon, orange, and mandarin, enhancing the "citrus peel" characteristics of these components in fragrance applications.
