Description of Lovage Leaf Oil

One of the most powerful aromatics across the entire essential oils industry, Lovage Leaf Oil is steam-distilled from the fresh leaves and stems of the Levisticum Officinale herb. The oil’s odor is intensely sweet and floral; extremely diffusive in nature. As time goes on, lovage leaf oil retains its tenacious sweetness, often compared to cardamom or bergamot. In flavor, lovage leaf is most comparable to celery or cardamom. The oil is most commonly added to meat sauces, pickling brines, and other formulations in which its sweet cardamom-like nuances are desirable.
