Steam-distilled from the flowering tops of the Origanum Majorana herb, Marjoram Oil Sweet Egyptian is a common component of regional meat and spice flavorings. The oil’s flavor and aroma is similar to nutmeg, though it retains a sweet and slightly bitter undertone. The Egyptian variety of Marjoram oil is distinctly less camphoraceous than the Spanish, making it perfect for meat sauces, spice compounds, and canned foods. Egpyitan sweet marjoram oil is also used in perfumery, imparting an immediate fresh, warm, somewhat medicinal top note.
