Description of Perilla Oil

Perilla Oil, also known as Perilla Leaf Oil or Perilla Herb Oil, is steam-distilled from the fragrant leaves of the Perilla frutescens herb. Sometimes referred to as the "Beefsteak plant," perilla is native to India and Southeast Asia, where it finds a wide array of culinary, cosmetic, and aromatic applications. Our Perilla Oil has a strong and diffusive aroma, with very green and spicy-herbal notes somewhat comparable to basil or tea leaf. Perilla pairs well with citrus and floral bases such as neroli and ylang-ylang, where it adds a desirable richness and depth to aromatic compositions.
