Description of Pimento Leaf Oil

Steam-distilled from the fragrant leaves of the Pimenta dioica tree, Pimento Leaf Oil is a native product of Jamaica. Due to the unique growing process used by Jamaican pimento farmers, the branches of the pimento plant are kept to a short bush-like consistency, allowing them to be harvested alongside berries during production season. Pimento leaf oil is mainly comprised of eugenol, similar to pimento berry, though the material differs slightly in its composition in aroma. Pimento leaf is mainly used in seasoning blends and natural flavorings.
