EU lemon production is forecast at 1.5 million metric tons, which is down 0.2 million metric tons from previous estimates. Spain is the largest producer of lemon within the EU, accounting for nearly 65% of the region’s production, but poor weather conditions have reduced output in recent months. Italy is the second largest producer, though floods caused damage to numerous lemon groves near the end of October. In general, EU exports of lemon are expected to decline due to a shortened season and increasing prices....
